Pride Removed… Hope Restored!

Pride Removed… Hope Restored!

My name is Robin and I am very excited to get started with Mission First Alliance as their new Administrative Assistant! I have spent the last four years home with my babies and truth be told I would have stayed longer – but I have been praying and searching for a way to help supplement our income and God has shut every door I have knocked on – and there have been many. I still have a little one at home part-time which meant I needed flexible hours, and I was praying for something that would be impactful for the Kingdom of God – if I am going to be away from my kids then I wanted that.

My work experience varies from ministries, to universities, to a Copper Mine Remediation, and many more in between until I became a Federal Investigator doing background investigations for jobs that need a security clearance; Military, ICE, CBP, TSA, Specialized LE Units, Judges, defense contractors, and many other agencies. It felt like that job was made for me – it clicked from the first day of training and I was very good at it. I began to climb the ranks and started the application process into the FBI. Then while working TDY in NYC I found out I was pregnant and everything changed. I would work 2 more years in the field, but God was using that time to show me the amount of internal pride and identity I had placed in my job – rather than in Him. Ultimately, I stepped away from the profession that I loved knowing it didn’t have a place in our lives anymore.

The McCord Family

Fast forward to now – God brings us to places and people at just the right time, HIS perfect timing. I knew of Mission First Alliance because Jeremy, Ketryna and I attend church together. I followed them on Facebook because I was interested in such an amazing ministry…. Now being here only a few weeks in I realize I did not know just how amazing it is!

I was not a first responder, but I certainly worked with many of them, and I believe in the value of what they do and saw the toll it takes on them and their families. As an investigator we dove deep into every aspect of their lives, and I got very familiar with the kinds of struggles they go through. Mission First Alliance is not only standing in the gap to point them to the ONE answer they need in response to those struggles, Jesus Christ, but they are bringing together many amazing other people and ministries to collaborate and work to bring Christ to the ones who endure so much for the sake of others.

Isn’t it just like God to bring us back to something we love that He removed from us, only to make it even better when He restores it to us? I now get the opportunity to work with amazing people in all types of capacities! I have caught the vision for this ministry!! I can see how God can use Mission First Alliance and all its members in numerous ways to draw first responders to Himself.

“I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.”  Acts 2:25

On a zoom call recently one of the alliance members said, “If you do not have God to turn to in this job (Law Enforcement) you will surely end up in a pit” and that struck me hard. First responders NEED to know Jesus – HE needs to be their coping mechanism, lest they fall into a pit. Mission First Alliance has the tools, connections, and people who are propelled by this mission to bring Jesus to them.

I am so excited to be along for the ride!
